This type of lure is made of many different parts; the base is a thin wire shaft with a loop or "eye" through which the fishing line is attached. The hook, usually a treble (three-pronged) hook is attached to the large loop at the other end.
Some spinners have a skirt of natural or dyed squirrel-tipped hair. To attract the fishes attention, the body of the spinner is usually adorned with small rings, colored beads, metal cylinders or a combination.
Spinners come in various sizes for catching trout, pike and muskies.
